Founded in 1971 by Brian Sumner, the Costa Blanca
News started life as an English page in the Ciudad
newspaper in Alcoy. Following eager acceptance
the single sheet Ciudad soon became a newspaper
in its own right and Costa Blanca News was born
in 1973. Since then it has grown and enjoyed
spectacular success, being nominated for Valencia’s
Best Company award in the Nova Prizes in 2002.
Costa Blanca News
is available every
Friday for just 1.60€ and
currently has a readership of over 100,000. It
is sold from Almería
to Castellón and in most major airports.
The
head office in Finestrat is where the newsgroup’s
several papers are managed. CB Newsgroup’s
other titles are Costa
del Sol News, Costa
Almería News and the recently launched Costa
Levante News.
Costa Blanca News
is printed in tabloid format (A3) with over 170
pages covering all local news from the Costa
Blanca and surrounding areas in English, plus
many features for all tastes and interests, TV
listings, useful information and the immensely
popular property and classified advertising sections.
The Costa Blanca
News website includes a selection of news stories
and features from the main publication as well
as all the classified adverts. Updated every
Friday afternoon, the website receives thousands
of visits every day.
